Huyoung Lee/Character Sketch 1st draft/Tuesday 11 a.m.

Never Too Much

201102861 Huyoung Lee

She seemed to be somewhat indifferent. She was a beautiful young woman and her soft smile was attractive enough to make a gentleman who was looking around café, standing at a counter and waiting for his coffee, to fix his eye on her, being completely ignorant of a clerk calling him. But I could feel that, behind her cotton candy smile was some kind of bitterness just like a deep black coffee in her white hand.

She looked somewhat different from so-called 'trendy' girls. Her long black chiffon skirt, gracefully coming down to her ankle, was in contrast with others' rambunctious short skirts. Its mysterious darkness looked as if she wanted to hide something from others behind that black curtain. Every time she moved - although she hardly did - it slightly swayed making a graceful wave. Her neat brown loafers revealed its neck through the skirt. She was wearing a big knit cardigan with red and grey harmoniously mixed together. It gently slid down from her shoulder and covered her small body as if it was hugging her. All of her clothes were pleasantly plain but joined together they made up her own unique atmosphere.

She smiled a lot. She didn't wear makeup but her clean face gleamed with some kind of elegance. Her big black eyes shone every time she smiled. Her dark brown hair gently touched her face and shoulder as she leaned her head smiling. Talking to her friend, she seemed to be very delighted but it was never too much. There was some kind of naturalness and self-control in her every action. It might partly contribute to her gracefulness but in other point of view, seemed just like she was preventing her feelings from overflowing. When listening to her friend, she stared at her with those wide eyes and nodded slowly and slightly. She was smiling, but it felt like her gracefulness was saying, "Never too much."

  1. From Jieun to Huyoung

    1. She's beautiful, elegant, calm, but somewhat mysterious young woman.

    2. She was a beautiful young woman and her soft smile was attractive enough to make a gentleman who was looking around café, standing at a counter and waiting for his coffee, to fix his eye on her, being completely ignorant of a clerk calling him.

    3. What the person looks like, What the person does.

    4. No.

    5. I think you described her because she had somewhat different aura from others.

    6. How was her voice? I personally got curious about her voice, too.

  2. From Ha Eun to Huyoung

    1. I think she is a beautiful and a little bit mysterious woman so, I liked how you described well about her outer appearance in detail.

    2. One word would be smiley. I think she is a person who smiles a lot. Although there are many different characteristic that is described I think smiling woman would be the best word that I would chose.

    3. I'm not really sure what she does and what the person really looks like.

    4. I think this essay is about a person you have observed from afar. So, it is difficult to know all the character about this woman. Maybe add in some details in that you observed that showed her character.

    5. Her personality.

    6. I think a person who is interested in observing others would be interested in reading this essay.
